Wedding Cake Maker

I love to challenge the conventional view of a wedding cake.

I’m Sue, your fine art wedding cake maker in Devon.  Not for me the pure white cake, smooth finishes and sparkle.  My cakes are for those who have the courage to break a few boundaries.  I’m excited by non-traditional, creative designs that are as individual as your love story.

With a background in art, I draw inspiration from an eclectic range of sources – art, dance, architecture, fashion, interiors – to design a wedding cake that is creative and deeply personal to you.

I love living in Devon with its lush green countryside and stunning beaches.  Outside of my studio, you will find me walking my dog, Albie, across the wild expanses of Dartmoor, along green country lanes or windswept beaches. It’s here that I relax, where I draw inspiration from the textures and soft muted colours of granite outcrops, gorse and bracken, sand and seaweed and huge skies.

Looking back, my earliest childhood memories are of delicious home-baked treats. My brother and I always knew that a visit to either of our grandparents would mean enjoying one of their specialities: we’re talking egg custard tarts and light as a feather victoria sponges. Sweet memories that have inspired my passion for ensuring that cakes fulfil their promise of a delicious treat – a little taste of luxury, even heaven.
